Jim Gunter has served as a justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court since 2004.
Legal Education and Experience
Gunter received his B.B.A. from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from the University of Houston.
From 1977-1982 he was a Prosecuting Attorney with Arkansas's 8th Judicial District. In the years dating 1983-1991, he served as District Chancellor. Beginning in 1991, Judge Gunter served as a circuit and chancery judge until 1999, when he became a circuit judge with the 8th Judicial District North (1999-2004).[1]
