Joseph F. Murphy, Jr. is a judge on the Maryland Court of Appeals, representing the 2nd Appellate Circuit (including Baltimore and Harford counties), since December 17, 2007. A native of Fitchburg, MA, Judge Murphy attended St. Bernard's High School, Fitchburg; Boston College, A.B., 1965; and the University of Maryland School of Law, J.D., 1969.[1]
He was appointed to the court in 2007 by Martin O'Malley, a Democrat. His current term expires in 2010.
