Early Life and Education
A native of San Francisco, Wardlaw graduated from the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) with her Bachelor's Degree in 1976 and her juris doctorate degree in 1979.
Professional Legal Career
Judicial Career
Wadlaw started out as a Federal District (Article III) Judge for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Wardlaw was nominated by Bill Clinton on August 10, 1995 on the unaimous reccomendation of Senators Dianne Feinstien and Barbara Boxer to a judgeship created by the retirement of David Kenyon. Wardlaw was confirmed by the US Senate on December 22, 1995 on a Senate vote and received commission on December 26, 1995. Wardlaw left the California Central District Federal Court on August 3, 1998 due to her appointment to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
