Ronald E. Nehring was appointed to the Utah Supreme Court by Governor Michael O. Leavitt in May of 2003, after eight years of service on the Third District Court bench. A graduate of Cornell University and the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, Justice Nehring began his professional career with Utah Legal Services and was a shareholder with the Salt Lake City firm of Prince, Yeates and Geldzahler at the time of his appointment to the District Court bench. At the time of his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Nehring was the presiding judge of the Third District Court.[1]
