Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr. is a former justice of the Missouri Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court in August 1992, and subsequently retained in November 1994 and November 2006 for 12-year terms.

Limbaugh served as Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court from July 2001 through June 2003. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, he served as a circuit judge in the 32nd Judicial Circuit of Missouri from September 1987 to August 1992.[1]

Education

Justice Limbaugh was educated in the Cape Girardeau, Missouri, public schools, and received his Bachelor of Arts (History) from Southern Methodist University, December 1973. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law in December 1976 and his Master of Laws in Judicial Process in May 1998 from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Justice Limbaugh was a partner in law firm of Limbaugh, Limbaugh, Russell & Syler, P.C., Cape Girardeau from January 1983 through August 1987; prior to this he was the Prosecuting Attorney of Cape Girardeau County (January 1979 through December 1982) and an Associate in law firm of Limbaugh, Limbaugh & Russell from May 1977 to November 1978.
